About the Role

We are recruiting a KS3 English Teacher for a British international school in Baghdad.

This role focuses on building strong foundations in literacy, reading, and writing, preparing students for progression into KS4. It is suited to teachers who can engage students and develop confidence in language and communication.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the British curriculum at KS3 level.
• Develop students’ reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
• Plan lessons that encourage critical thinking and creativity.
• Assess, track, and report on student progress.
• Create a structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Support students of varying abilities through differentiated teaching.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure curriculum consistency.
• Uphold safeguarding and professional standards at all times.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or related field.
• PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), awarded by the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA).
• Minimum 3 years’ teaching experience.
• Proven experience teaching English at KS3 level.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Desirable

• Experience with the British curriculum.
• Ability to support transition into KS4.
• Previous international teaching experience.
