Grade 12 English Teacher – AP Curriculum
Location: Basra, Iraq.
Start Date: August 2026.
Contract: 12 months, renewable.
Salary: Paid over 10 months.
Curriculum: Advanced Placement (AP).
Role Overview
MZ Talent Group is recruiting on behalf of an international school in Basra seeking an experienced Grade 12 English Teacher to teach the Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and academically rigorous English lessons while preparing students for AP examinations and university pathways. The role requires strong subject knowledge, structured lesson planning, and the ability to support senior students as they prepare for higher education.
Key Responsibilities
. Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the AP curriculum.
. Prepare Grade 12 students for AP English examinations and academic writing standards.
. Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment.
. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
. Maintain strong classroom management and high academic expectations.
. Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and student success.
. Communicate effectively with parents and school leadership regarding student progress.
Requirements
. Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field.
. Valid U.S. State Teaching License (Teacher License) is required.
. Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, ideally with Grade 12 students.
. Experience teaching AP English or a similar advanced secondary curriculum.
. Strong lesson planning and curriculum development skills.
. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
. Ability to foster a supportive and academically focused learning environment.
